My Grandmother

So this blog is dedicated to my Grandmother who has Alzheimers Disease. She's had this disease for several years now and I think she maybe in her final stages of it. For those of you who are familiar with this disease you can relate to me and know what is going on. For those of you who do not know, it is a brain disease that destroys your brain cells causing you to forget. But what most don't know is it not only causes you to forget but it also interferes with your daily life of doing things and pretty soon you stop doing things all together because you no longer can.

My Grandmother is currently in a nursing home right now and all she does is just sit their. She needs people to feed her everyday because she can't, she needs people to dress her everyday and she can no longer even use the bathroom facilities. She needs everyone do to everything for her. Its so sad to see my Grandmother this way, but their are times I often forget how my Grandmother used to be before the disease because she's had it for so many years. Its very hard to have to sit there and watch my Grandfather, my Mother and my Uncles go through this with their mother. Very heartbreaking because it is not my Grandmother. It is, but its not if that makes sense. This horrible disease has taken over my Grandmother body and has done something to my real Grandmother.

Their is medicine you can take, but it will never make a person better. It will only slow the progression down of the disease. Thats all. I keep hearing they are trying to work on a cure for this, but by the time they do I won't be around anymore, my childrens children probably won't be around anymore. But I really hope they can find a cure because this is such a mean mean disease. Throughout the years the rate of people diagnosed with Alzheimers is increasing and as the years go on they will keep increasing actually tripling. Please read about this disease and educate yourself because this could happen to somebody you are close to. I will continue on praying that they find a cure and please pray for my Grandmother and my Family. Above is a picture of my Grandmother and Grandfather with Gina. Yayyyyy...Its Friday!

So happy its Friday!Now I just can't wait until it's 4:30 so I can leave work and go pick up Gina. It feels like this week went soooooo slow. But tomorrow is March 1st which means we are getting closer to summer! Can't wait until winter is over with. I'm sick of the cold weather and I'm sick of all the sicknesses and I'm sick of being indoors all the time. Enoughs enough. But I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm going out to eat with my friends that I don't get to see all the time, because we are busy being mothers and just busy with our everyday lives so it will be nice to hang out.
Well I guess that is all for today, I know its short compared to the other long ones, but I really don't have much to write today.

Dr.'s Appt., Chuckie Cheese and Swimming Classes

So last night I had to take Gina to the asthma specialist for a follow-up. The doctor examined her and said she sounds great. She is still saying she has viral induced asthma which means the asthma will only flare up when she has a cold. She also said she will grow out of it. Tom also had it when he was younger and he grew out of it by the age of 12. The doctor feels she will grow out of it before that age so I pray that she does. I just feel that daycare brought all this crap out of her and maybe if she never went she wouldn't be like this?? Well of course she wouldn't be getting sick so much but I guess it doesn't mean she would of never of had the asthma. She probably just would have gotten it later in life when she would start real school and then she would have been older by the time she grew out of it. I just feel so sorry for her.... :(
So after her appt. I took her to Chuckie Cheese!!!!! Her 1st time there. She had sooooo much fun. She gave me a hard time when it was time to go because she was having so much fun. LOL! I didn't take any pictures because I didn't have my camera and it was kinda a last minute thing. Next time I will take pictures because I know we will be going back.
So next weekend I will be enrolling Gina in swimming classes along with Steph and her kiddies and also Ang and Melanie. I can't wait to see what this is going to be like. I think Gina will be okay with it. She really isn't a picky child that way with doing things but she was so little last year when she was in my mom's pool I don't think she remembers. I think it will be fun though :)
So this weekend we are all going out to eat and then afterwards going bathing suit shopping for the girls!!! I'm just so excited and anxious for the nice weather to come because I want to plan so much to do with Gina. Now that she is getting older their is more things to do and I just want her to have fun!!!

1st Blog

Okay, so here is my first blog on here. It took me like 2 weeks to work on this page so I just hope I will be able to keep up with the blogging. I like the idea of blogging, because it is good to write about the great things that are going on in your life and when something is bothering you, it is also good to write about it so you can get it off your chest. LOL! I also like the fact that I can brag about my family and especially Gina who is just so so smart. So lets talk a little about Gina.
Gina is 19 months, but if you ask her she is 2!! I don't know where she learned this from cause I never taught her to say that but she knows and if you ask her she will tell you with great confidence "2"! Also, while we are talking about "2" I think Gina is starting the terrible 2's. Temper tantrums, hitting, not wanting me to dress her or undress her, doing the opposite when I tell her no. I guess all of the normal things a toddler going through the terrible 2's does. But at the same time she can be such a sweet heart. Always coming up to me to give me a kiss or a hug and she will come out with the cutest things that will take me back. Like I said before she is really smart!! I could sit here and go on and on about her because I LOVE to talk about her. LOL!
Well I guess that is enough for today...Hopefully I will be able to write more tomorrow.
